This Clock is highly sought after, and extremly rare - they have sold at Schmitt Horan & Co. Auctions.
I purchased this clock, and it has sat some many years now, a bit busy fixing my clients clocks, which always came first, well - I found time this year, made time for my own, just one day out of the week. The photo above has an extra movement in it, yes, lucky enough to find one.
That one - I have hanging on a board to itself, some day I might find a case or just build a reproduction case for the spare movement, right now the one that came with the clock needs to be cleaned up, and pendulum repaired, I like to keep things as they were found, repaired and brought back to life, basicaly not wanting to take the historical charm out of the piece, it is well over 100 years old { Like the saying goes if walls could talk } Imagine the stories this clock could tell, then again there is that N.D.A floating around D.C. / Ok bad joke, maybe. Anyways the clock has plenty of character.
I did try to sell this once, I'm not giving it away and so it is being restored and going in my shop. They are perfect time keepers. Chelsea supplied the military with clocks and Chelsea clocks were given as gifts to high ranking members of Governments and a host of other famous people. Most of you know Chelsea by the ships clocks. Surprise they made weight driven clocks - so to speck giving Seth Thomas a little Competition, after all Seth Thomas also made Military Clocks
